Welcome to the Care4Skills rapid response Massive Open Online Course (MOOC). Care4Skills is a project for long-term care (LTC) workers. It was created to support workers to learn the digital skills they need, to continue to provide the best care possible. This MOOC is the first step of the project, and will provide you with the knowledge you need to provide compassionate care, and adapt to new technologies that are used or may soon be used in your work. This course is for you if you are a paid worker providing LTC in a home or institutional setting.
The content of this MOOC has been developed by the Care4Skills project partners. It takes inspiration from the European Care Certificate (ECC). This is a European qualification that covers the basic knowledge that a worker needs in a health and social care setting. It contains deeper information and more topics that would benefit anyone working in health and social care. If you finish this MOOC and want more information, visit their website . You can also take the ECC MOOC developed by EASPD.
The content is divided into 5 Modules:
Module 1: Values and Quality

Module 2: Risk and Safety

Module 3: Assistive Technology

Module 4: Digital Care

Care4Skills: Final Assessment
You can access these modules by enrolling in each of the sections below, taking care to complete all courses in order (please see this page for more support on enrolling on modules). Finally, you can prove your knowledge by completing the Care4Skills Final Assessment, which includes questions based on the content of the four modules. You must complete the final assessment to receive your certificate of completion for the course.

This course is designed to be a fundamental overview of the values of social care and the digital skills needed to provide a high standard of care. We know that participants have different amounts of professional experience and areas of expertise. Because of this, it is not mandatory to complete every section of the MOOC in order to complete the final assessment. However, please be aware that questions related to all sections of the MOOC are included in the final assessment.
If you have any questions or need any more information, please reach out to your employer or Care4Skills partner in your country. Alternatively, you can email Kalianne.farren@easpd.eu.
