Be a Volunteer! Handbook

The Be a Volunteer! project promotes inclusive volunteering as a way for young people with disabilities (16–30) to gain skills, confidence, and participate actively in society.

This handbook, shaped through collaboration and shared experiences among partner organizations, highlights both the challenges and the opportunities of volunteering for people with disabilities.

Inside, you’ll find practical tools, strategies, and real-life stories to help create more inclusive, welcoming, and empowering volunteering environments.

RESPONSE Training and Awareness-Raising (TAR) Manual

Women with disabilities across the European Union face a heightened risk of gender-based violence, while many support services still lack accessible, rights-based and gender-responsive approaches. The RESPONSE (Responsive services to address gender-based violence against women with disabilities) project goal is to strengthen cooperation between the disability and victims’ rights sectors to improve prevention and response mechanisms.

To support this, the RESPONSE partnership developed a Training & Awareness Raising (TAR) Manual on rights-based and gender-responsive services, designed for disability, health, social care and judicial service providers.

You can find the Training & Awareness Raising Manual in seven languages down below

You can also enrol on the RESPONSE MOOC adapted from the TAR Manual here.

EarlyBrain Tales and Toolkits

Many children, including those with intellectual or developmental disabilities, face challenges when discovering and adapting to new sensations and routines. This reluctance can stem from various factors, including fears, discomfort, and sensory sensitivities. Understanding these elements can help caregivers support children through this process.

Developed by the EarlyBrain consortium and financed by the European Union, these toolkits aim to support parents and caregivers to understand and assist children with developmental disabilities in the process of adapting to new sensations and overcoming fears.

Each toolkit contains a storybook of a challenge a child may face, theoretical explanations associated with the story, and guidance for practical approach to supporting children with developmental disorders in the context of story.

You can find these toolkits below:
